• Welcome to the Davidsons Training Platform

Your central place for induction, core training, mandatory learning and ongoing development.

Welcome to the Davidsons Chemists online training platform. This site is available to all colleagues and brings together the learning you need for your role in one place.

You will be enrolled in the courses relevant to your role. This includes core and mandatory training, as well as induction and other role-specific learning where appropriate.

The training you are expected to complete is set out in our Support Staff Training Pathway.

    Support Staff Training Pathway

Pharmacy Managers will ensure support staff receive protected time to complete the required training.

    Getting Started

We have three short videos to help you get familiar with the Training Platform and understand how the different parts of your learning fit together.

    Introduction to Moodle

A quick guide to finding your learning and navigating Moodle.

    Core and Mandatory Training

An overview of the core and mandatory learning relevant to your role.

    12-Week Induction

A guide to how the Davidsons 12-week induction is structured.

    Using the Platform

Some learning is completed directly within Moodle, while other courses link to external training providers. Follow the instructions within each course and complete any required checks, quizzes or practical sign-offs.

Your course list will vary depending on your role, responsibilities and stage of development, so you may not see the same courses as another colleague.

You can also use the platform to maintain details of additional learning activities you have identified and completed yourself.

    Numark Training

Some courses on this site use the Numark Training Platform. You will need your separate Numark login to access these modules.

    Numark Training Platform Help

    Need Help?

If you are unsure which training you should be completing, speak to your line manager in the first instance.

If you are having an access or technical issue with the Davidsons Training Platform, please email:

Your learning does not stop when induction ends. This platform will continue to support you as services, procedures and your role develop.

Pharmacist Emergency Response & Basic Life Support Refresher

This refresher is designed specifically for pharmacists and focuses on the medical emergencies and first aid situations you are most likely to encounter in community pharmacy.

It covers how to recognise when someone is seriously unwell, respond quickly and confidently, provide appropriate immediate care and know when to call 999.

Throughout the course, you will work through practical pharmacy-based scenarios covering CPR and AED use, choking, breathing difficulties, anaphylaxis, seizures, hypoglycaemia, stroke, severe bleeding, chest pain and opioid overdose.

The aim is not to turn you into a first aid expert, but to refresh the essential knowledge and skills you may need when someone becomes unexpectedly unwell in your pharmacy.

Learn how to monitor and manage your blood pressure in this short online course. The course is CPD-accredited so can count towards your continued professional development requirements. The material is based on the latest research and features Dr. Michael Hanrahan, a Specialist Registrar in Public Health Medicine.

You can freely access the course content at any time, but for the best experience please sign-up on the Fleming Medical site. Only if you sign up will you be able to save your progress and receive the certificate.

Blood Pressure Monitoring - Fleming Medical Academy

With the recent warm weather and more people spending time outdoors, the likelihood of patients presenting with tick bites or Lyme disease symptoms increases. As community pharmacy teams are often the first healthcare professionals patients speak to, it's important that we all know how to give the right advice and recognise when further assessment is needed.

Please complete the training module by reading the "Lyme Disease – What Health Professionals Need to Know" booklet  and then answer the 12 multiple-choice questions at the end to confirm completion.

You do not need to study the treatment section in detail. The key point to remember is that our Independent Prescribers (IPs) can assess and treat patients presenting with erythema migrans (EM), the characteristic Lyme disease rash. Where appropriate, please refer these patients internally to an IP.

Finally, a reminder that we do not remove ticks from patients. Instead, advise patients on the correct method of tick removal using a suitable tick removal tool or fine-pointed tweezers, and when to seek further medical advice if symptoms develop.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this month's mandatory training.
